Human Resource Generalist

Responsibilities:
- Onboarding and termination of employees; ensuring all protocols are followed 
- Serve as the conscience of the organization, monitoring morale and empowering the senior leaders to help intervene and take corrective action 
- Enforce HR Policies and procedures with your manager, and revise and enhance as necessary 
- Performance evaluation 
- Disciplinary process 
- Benefits administration (includes work with Broker) 
- Filing of Worker's Compensation claims 
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as contractual obligations (e.g., insurance safety protocols). The list is not comprehensive: 
- Responding to Unemployment and Department of Labor requests 
- OSHA Reporting 
- Participate on the Safety Committee; verify all documentation is compliant with laws. 
- As we add states, review the laws for new requirements to ensure we set up Rippling correctly 
- FLSA compliance 
- Proactively alert the team to weather and holiday reminders, birthday and anniversary announcements 
- Participate in the purchase of Workers' Compensation and Benefit Coverages. 
- Assist in the selection and administration of a 401k program 
- Working with the Director of Finance to build a training program for safety and to develop leaders 
- Sexual harassment and hostile work environment 
- Performance discussions 
- Discrimination 
- Leadership skills 
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of our HR programs and benefits 
- Payroll for our various companies from our payroll management system (currently, Rippling). As well as maintaining payroll records and owning any payroll-related activities (i.e. WC audit, etc). 
- Maintain ATS and job postings to support company's hiring needs. 
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, providing timely updates and feedback to both the candidate and hiring manager 
- Maintaining application standards, including application completion, BGC, MVR, and if needed, credit report processes and evaluations 
- Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, industry professionals, and external recruitment agencies. 
- Serve as support for recruiting from time-to-time. 
- Other duties as assigned. 
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years minimum HR Generalist role, managing onboarding, offboarding, employee evaluation, and disciplinary processes 
- 3 years minimum experience with Department of Labor - unemployment issues and other inquiries 
- 3 years minimum recruiting experience, driving the top of funnel through offer letter; experience with Construction roles is highly desirable 
- Understands the legal and tax aspects of benefit withholdings for 401k and insurance 
- Must demonstrate utilization of KPI’s to monitor hiring and other work processes (days open, average # resumes required, etc) 
- Comfortable with software in general and expert with Google Docs/Sheets specifically 
- Proven outstanding communication, follow-up, and organizational skills 
- Excellent and consistent attention to detail 
- Ability to effectively adjust communications to the audience - from Executive to Employee 
- English as a primary language 
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus 
- Experience designing and implementing benefit programs a plus 
- Familiarity with Rippling, UHC, Guardian, or Guideline 401(k) a plus 
Compensation:
- Annualized wages between $70,000 and $90,000, depending on experience 
- The company pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee and dependents 
- 13 paid holidays, one floating holiday per year 
- 15 days of Paid Time Off per year; PTO is accrued at a rate of 4.62 hours per biweekly pay period
