Project Engineer
Position: Project Engineer
Reports To: Assistant PM or Project Manager or Superintendent
Position Purpose:
Position Purpose: 1.) Work under Project Management and/or Project Superintendent to learn skills described in training and development program. 2.) Support Project Management and Superintendent with project related tasks for the lifetime of the project to ensure successful completion of project and high quality of reporting and documentation practices.

This is a non-exempt position. It will be paid hourly; eligible for overtime.
Key Job Functions:
Preconstruction
Support preconstruction efforts on projects when assigned.
Complete bid tabs and obtain sub bids for project pursuits.
Perform take-offs and help generate estimates as required.
Gather field measurements as required.
Project Startup
Ensure all items on project jobsite startup checklist is complete.
Ensure all temporary services such as temporary toilets, dumpsters, trailers, and others are set up onsite in time for project startup.
Ensure all Procore project management modules have been set up upon project commence. Complete setup of modules as required
Jobsite Organization and maintenance
1. Assistant Super and/or APM in setup of jobsite office and maintenance of it
2. Maintain all onsite construction documents including plans, specifications, shop drawings, revisions, etc.
3. Maintain clean jobsite office. May be required to remove trash, sweep floors, mop floors, etc.
4. Set up and maintain project directory, submittal logs, RFI logs, subcontractor exhibit Bs, delivery logs.
5. Support superintendent on gathering subcontractor daily reports.
6. Prepare RFIs and Submittals for Superintendent or Project Manager review until authorized to distribute these materials independently.
7. Request office supplies from main office.
8. Prepare subcontractor meeting minutes and distribute.
9. Coordinate and execute job site demobilization and corresponding office supplies.
10. Coordinate removal of excess materials from jobsite with Superintendent.
11. Ensure company document control systems are maintained and organized per company process.
Construction Activities
Review jobsite fence daily and make repairs as necessary, if assigned to be on jobsite daily. If not on a job site daily, perform at a minimum, once per week.
Ensure all jobsite signage is neat and professional. Review daily and make repairs necessary. If not on a job site daily, perform at a minimum, once per week.
Assist superintendent to monitor subcontractor production rates and report to general contractor project team members.
In absence of field foreman, clean the following areas daily: jobsite perimeter, jobsite entrance, sidewalks around jobsite. If street cleaning is required, notify the Superintendent.
Take daily photos of projects and upload them to the system. Organized per standard process.
Support manual field activities as required.
Participate in jobsite inspections under supervision of Project Superintendent to learn inspection processes.
Prepare and distribute weekly photo progress reports.
Prepare and distribute weekly subcontractor production reports as directed by Superintendent or Project Manager.
Responsible for managing all RFI processes in Procore, interfacing with project team, subcontractors and architects to seek resolution to RFIs.
Distribute weekly RFI log to project team.
Responsible for receiving and processing all Submittals in Procore. Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Manager for Submittal review.
Support Superintendent in managing and coordinating completion of project punch list task, utilizing Procore’s punch feature.
Maintain Procore drawings and specification tools and distribute updates to project team and subcontractors.
Update and maintain project directory in Procore.
Scheduling
Track project Milestones and communicate with subcontractors at subcontractor meetings as required.
Maintain Project Procurement log and delivery forecast. Distribute weekly report with updated log.
Assist in coordinating project deliveries with Superintendent.
Quality
Develop quality control plan with Project Superintendent.
Ensure project mock-ups are built per plan and at beginning of project for owner and architect review.
Create and distribute weekly jobsite housekeeping reports to the subcontractors.
Perform punch review, prepare reports and distribute on weekly basis. Follow up with Subcontractor as directed by Superintendent or PM to schedule repairs.
Safety
Obtain all required safety certifications by company policy.
Review jobsite daily for potential safety issues and/or violations. Bring such items to Superintendents’ attention.
Assist superintendent in making correction safety actions as directed.
Ensure all personnel on the jobsite are wearing proper PPE as defined by Project Superintendent. Notify project Superintendent of any continued issues with subcontractors.
Business Development and Client Relations
Ensure all activities are performed in a manner which achieves the goal of obtaining positive references from both clients, client consultants, architects and subcontractors.
Close Out / Warranty
Prepare close-out documents with APM for team review.
The video records all subcontractor training videos and add to close-out documents.
General Duties
Position is expected to spend majority of their time on the project site.
Requires to be onsite at 7:30 AM or as the specific project needs.
Saturdays may be required.
Position may work in wet, dry, cold, hot conditions.
Position may work around loud noises and dust.
Actively participate in all company training opportunities in support of development plans.
Assist with all other special tasks and projects as directed by management.
Maintain professional appearance per company guidelines.

Qualifications
- A degree in Construction Management is preferred
- Hands-on Construction Experience preferred
- A recently completed construction internship is a plus
- Comfortable with technology - spreadsheets, documents, as well as Construction software such as ProCore, Bluebeam/Revue, desired
- Expert in communicating with GMAIL, Slack, and phone
- Oral and written English are a must; Spanish as a second language preferred
- Safety Certifications - we will train - OSHA 30, Scaffolding, Fall Protection, Hazcom, First Aid/CPR
- The company provides a laptop, an iPad, and a cell phone.
Compensation:
- Entry-level - hourly, non-exempt position (eligible to be paid for pre-approved overtime)
- Annualized wages between $55,000 and $70,000, depending on experience
- The company pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee and dependents
